This modern day contemplation garden has many characteristics that reflect both traditional ideas of natural beauty and the personalities of its gardeners. Although based on traditional Japanese gardens, the geometry of the circle has inspired much of this garden's form. This Garden holds life's symbolism and reflects it back, it is a place of beauty, purity and contemplation. The verdant foliage and endless variety of green hues nourishes the soul and restores the spirit. Here one may derive a sense of peace and tranquillity that is unique and supremely relaxing.
The spirit of a place is contemplated through the act of its tending. The more one put into this experience in terms of thaught and, labor the more the garden returns personal joy and satisfaction. Some of the most profound and fulfilling contemplation comes in the mundane tending of gardens. Simply caring for a garden allows a person to become at one with nature and harmoniously interact with all the lives and spirits of its inhabitance. The tending of the gardens not only enhances the gardens' beauty but ones own appreciation for it.
The Pielak Gardens had its modest beginnings in 1994 when designer Chris Pielak began a survey of the properties. After careful, reflective consideration of the garden's place and spirit the gardens were meticulously designed and planted over several years. Now the gardens thrive and represent the designer's visions of natural and symbolic beauty.
